There are lots of agents out there. They all say they want to work for you and will do “whatever it takes!” But how do you know when you’ve found the right one? What should you look for in a Realtor?
We have put together our Top 5 signs of a great real estate agent!
They should ALWAYS come highly recommended…
Do some queries with your friends, family, and people you know who recently bought or sold a house. Not only the names of the agents but people who have experienced the process and worked with someone great. Read online reviews and see what people are saying about them. An experienced agent should have massive reviews on the different real estate sites. Do your homework and research more agents before you settle on one. Remember, you will be committed to this agent for months while they attempt to sell your home, so you need to be sure you are working with someone you can rely on!
They should be tech-savvy…
Your agent should have a visible presence on the major real estate websites as people shop online for their homes. Agents should have a wide range to get your listing seen by the right people, on which platforms work best, and how to use photography to sell the house. They should be able to send SMS or email more often so no communication issues may come out. How they are presenting themselves online, how they will show your house, if they set up basic profiles, no missing information on photos, they could take the same approach with your listing. Make sure they have the skills to sell your property in the best possible light!
They should ALWAYS be working. At least they appear to be…
Real estate can be difficult. Your agent must be someone who works hard, someone with big goals, and who shows a flawless drive and someone who appears to be chasing down a dream, who will likely be someone who works hard to make you satisfied and happy. They should learn more information and innovation on how to sell your house quickly (of course by email!) Agents must keep you updated and more often checking in with you as new buyers come.
They know the neighborhood…
Having a real knowledge of the area will help them to best market your home. Better yet, they live nearby so they will have an understanding of the local demographics and what they are looking for in a home. Having more knowledge about the vicinity will help them best to market your home and may be able to answer all queries about the community so they are able to sell the location to potential buyers.
They take it seriously…
Professionalism is the best way, working with someone who is punctual, who keep their appointments, who follows through goes a long way. If your agent is panic-stricken, running around, and unable to handle situations then they are not the right person. Work with someone who manages their time properly, and is focused on important things needed knows how to prioritize. They should be able to update you on nearby sales, interest in your home, and what they are doing to actively sell your house!
Remember, at the end of the day, real estate agents are salesmen. They are to sell your home to have their commission. Be sure you do not fall for false promises or over inflated listing prices. Instead, look for agents who are knowledgeable, have great reviews, and who are able to educate you through the entire selling process!
